Plus-sized model Khrstyana gained attention for her appearance on America’s Next Top Model, a show I’ve never actually watched. What caught my eye was her activism for the LGBTQ+ community and her work with The Real Catwalk, a street-level fashion show designed to highlight the beauty of real people, those of us with the all too human flaws of the heaviness of the body, the malfunctions of limb and mind. She is a force in body positivity, inspiring those of us who feel less than to fully understand that even if we do not match the mainstream ideal of attractiveness, we are still beautiful.
